Tour Description:
Welcome to Seattle’s only family walking tour designed especially for kids! Seattle boasts that it’s a great place for kids, but the proof is in the pudding. Heather and Penny, two devoted Seattle moms and co-owners of Seattle By Foot, were stunned to learn there are only a few walking tours for kids in the whole wide world! So, they took matters in their own hands… The tour begins among the buzz of Pike Place Market and ends in the glitter of Westlake Center (with easy access to Seattle Center via Monorail). Both kids and parents will enjoy this entertaining and educational stroll to some of the best kid-friendly spots in downtown Seattle.

The Seattle Kids Tour is approximately 2 hours with 4-5 stops where we will engage in an activity that will keep the entire group busy and entertained. We are all aware it is important for our kids (parents, too) to engage in regular exercise physically and mentally; on this tour we have everything covered! We’ll discover public art, water fountains and skyscrapers along the way to add excitement to the walk. The walk is very easy with only a 2-3 block stretch before stopping for more fun.

Meeting Location:
Pike Place Market Info Booth
1st Avenue & Pike Street
Entrance to Pike Place Market

End Location:
*Westlake Center
4th Avenue & Pine Street

*Westlake Center is home to retail shops, a family friendly food court and to the Seattle Monorail (5 minute ride to Seattle Center). A few blocks away is the Seattle Convention Center, hotels and the Pike Place Market.

Distance:
.56 miles (very easy…rain or shine)

Are there family restrooms on the tour?

Oh yes! There are family restrooms at all stops.

Should I bring a stroller?

It never fails, children want to get out walk with all the other little guests on the tour; typically parents end up pushing an empty stroller. The tour was designed with little walkers and their grown-ups in mind; each member of your family will have a blast!

Is it possible to buy snacks on the tour?

Yes! There will be plenty of opportunity to buy nutritious snacks along the way.

Is there family friendly food options close to where we end?

Yes! Westlake Center offers a food court and the Pike Place Market is only a few blocks away.

What if it rains?

In Seattle, the rain never stops parents from going for a walk. (We even BBQ outside in the rain!) On the tour will spend some time inside and outside. Please be prepared for our ever changing weather.

Where should I park?

DO NOT park on the street! You will not make it back in time before your time is expired. We suggest parking at the Pike Place Parking Garage. It is located on Western Avenue and is only $8 ALL DAY if you arrive before 9:30 AM. Look for early bird specials in surrounding parking lots and read all parking signs very carefully. They can be a little confusing.

Can I tip my Tour Guide?

It is customary in the United States to tip tour guides for a job well done!
